Like other gel stains, it can be used on raw wood, painted surfaces, and even factory finished surfaces. This Dixie Belle Paint product is an oil-based stain and is highly pigmented allowing it to provide a deep and rich coverage. Dixie Belle No Pain Gel Stain is very flexible and very easy to use. Nevertheless, since it is an oil-based stain, it requires more time to dry. Typically, it will take about 5 days, depending on the humidity in your area, before you can apply a topcoat on it. In addition, since it is a non-porous stain, you don’t want to apply hemp oil or anything that needs to be absorbed by the wood on top of it.
