This is a great little lock that came highly rated on a few external bike specialist sites. One of the reviews was a side by side comparison of competing products, subjected to the highest pressures using machines that simulated the most common methods thieves use to break locks.NOTE: To complete this setup you will want to get the Abus mounting kits parts that fit this lock. It comes in two parts: 1) ABUS Shackle Clamp for 640 U Lock – 2) ABUS TexKF-Mini Lock Carrier. It was a bit confusing to nail down exactly what parts would work for this lock….also, finding a supplier on here that carried them that would deliver them in a reasonable time frame during Covid era. (try lockitt).The lock mounts perfectly on my Trek DS2 with the above setup. Also note that once you have the shackle (part the fits on the U bar of the lock) – you will have to shave some of the vinyl off the bar to get the shackle far enough up on the bar (at first it won’t seem to fit, you’ll see what I mean once you have the shackle and try to get it on. Its very easy to cut the vinyl away with a box knife.
