Lavender Twist Weeping Redbud is an unusual take on a tough native tree. This new variety INweeps,IN its twisting branches arching and cascading toward the ground. The effect is outstanding in the spring when the branches are completely laden with lavender blossoms. Then, in summer, its big, heart-shaped leaves spill down the branches in torrents of rich green. It is showy in autumn, too, when those leaves turn bright yellow. Even in winter it adds interest to the landscape when its dark, weeping, leafless branches are hung with ornaments of redbud seed pods. This low-maintenance tree needs little space, growing only 5 to 6 feet in height and spreading only 6 to 8 feet wide. Hardy in USDA zones 5 to 9.
