I have a nice backpack battery powered sprayer that I use to spray my yard for weeds and preemergent about 2-3 times a year and while I do love it, it’s big and bulky and a bit too much for spot spraying. I also have 4-5 handheld pump sprayers and while they do the job, it is a little annoying stopping to pump every 2-3 weeds, especially in an area that has lots of weeds, so I had been wanting a smaller, battery powered hand held one just like this one.Of course it’s battery powered and that’s great, overall it feels very well constructed. The wand is superb, very nice compared to my normal hand pump ones. I like that it has a poring tube to one side for filling up, and the lid doubles as a measuring cup so that’s handy! I used mine for about a half hour and the battery still appears to be fully charged so that’s good as well.A few things I didn’t like about it though, is that when turn the power on it doesn’t regulate. The pump runs and you have to give it a minute to charge up when you first turn it on. You can hear a difference in the sound the motor makes, but it never charges up and cuts off so it just continually runs. You could power it off, if say you needed to walk around to another side of the yard but then it will take a minute to charge back up so that’s not practical for stopping and going. Also there’s no access to the reservoir if you want to give it a good cleaning. You can clean it using the funnel type tube but if you had dyes, or something that needs a scrubbing, you’re limited to that so for me I will most likely just use it to feed my plants with a mild fertilizer or even as a mister during the summer. If I were to use it for weeds I would probably use dyes in the winter, and then change the type of herbicide I want, and since cleaning it might be a bit tricky, it would best be used for one thing only IMO.Overall, I would probably give it 3.5 stars since it’s fairly inexpensive compared to the one’s I had been looking at that cost $70-$90 just know that it has a few limitations if you wanted to take on a larger project. I was hoping to spray my whole yard with preemergent with this one, and while you could, I guess, I would’ve liked to have had access to the reservoir for cleaning. A few times it appeared to lose pressure after about 5 seconds, but then later it sprayed consistently so I think I just needed to give it a minute to initially charge up. Overall it’s decent for the money!
